the sparrow

Gentle sparrow flying hopeful,
out amongst the expansive skies.
Without a care, a pain, a sorrow
dost this little birdie fly.

Ever pleasing his Creator,
trusting in His tender hand.
Never questioning, always faithful
to his Maker's soft command.

Need he any earthly care,
this dear sparrow does not fret,
for he loves the One who loveth
to provide without regret.

May we take him as a lesson,
for our own more precious lives.
May we always trust the One who
will never fail to provide.
